Hello you lovely people,

Now the autumnal leaves are fallingl, we thought it was time for a quick update on our progress since your astounding support this summer.
The team is busily beavering away on everything battles, and we’re making some really exciting strides. We’ve come a long way from the cardboard iPads from the campaign – as battle cards have started to come to life on-screen, our playtests have been fuelling feuds left and right. Our playtesters all agree on one thing so far: Battles is super fun.

Tim and Steve are working hard on the new physical pieces, and our newest wee beasties are being printed, playtested, tweaked, and reprinted as part of our prototyping process. This is a long, complicated process, but things are (quite literally) taking shape before our very eyes!

On the digital side, George and Bryan are continuing to integrate battle cards into our current build, and are starting to tackle the challenge of adding *hundreds* of new beasts to the game! Lyall, meanwhile, has been working to make sure all the hybrids are mishmashing correctly and creating some brilliant new overlays for the Battles gameworld.
Just like the game, our digital and physical designers come together in perfect harmony to make sure that the final product is the most fun, tactical, and unique competitive game you’ll ever play. Look at ‘em go.

We’re gearing up for Essen next week, one of our favourite events of the year. If any of our backers are planning on going, please stop by the Kickstarter Stand (Hall 1, Stand 1d-129) to meet the team! We’d love to say hi. Also, you might just get a chance to playtest our latest build of Battles...
Lastly, we’re very excited to announce an entirely new line of games we’re beginning work on! Over the last four months Alex and some friends have been in Seattle developing Voice Originals: a new series of voice-augmented tabletop games that use smart speakers and physical pieces. That’s right - games you play with Alexa! To learn more, head to Voice Originals to check out details on our first game When in Rome - a travel trivia game fuelled by real conversations.
We’re loving all the amazing feedback from backers who opted for early delivery of their core sets. For those amongst you who want to help spread the word, it would mean the world if you could review us on your local Amazon store (we’re in US, UK, France, Germany and soon to be Canada, Spain and Italy). It only takes a minute but makes a big difference.
As ever, we’re always thrilled to hear from our community. Get in touch on any of our social channels, or just email [email protected]. Our latest update added some sharing features for you to boast about your high (or low) scores to the world. The full update can be read here.
Much love,
Team Sensible Object
