Today's update is about 2 things: How to unlock our next stretch goal and add-ons  

Soooo close it's almost...legendary

We are so close to $200K - when we get to unlock the Ladder of Creation and announce our next BIG stretch goal: we only need a smidge over $20K...or approx 200 backers to get there. We think we can get there TODAY if we all work together. We're beavering away here at the studio trying to make that happen but there are TWO things we need YOU to do to help us get there, and when you do we have a treat in store for you (just scroll down to the end)

Adjust your pledge to include add-ons (yes we know)

Since the start of the campaign we've had a lot of questions about whether backers would be able to buy our original add-ons as part of this Kickstarter. We'd always planned on making these available for backers to buy post-campaign through our pledge manager. We made this decision for purely logistical reasons as it's just a lot easier for us to manage this way. However on the downside it meant that any cash raised through add-ons would not contribute to our overall funding target and more importantly would not contribute to unlocking any stretch goals. Since we announced this on Friday we've had a lot of requests for us to rethink our approach, so this morning we got our calculators out, consulted the shipping gods and took a long hard look at essential post campaign admin like backer surveys and changed our mind. 

AS OF TODAY ALL ADD-ON PLEDGES WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR KICKSTARTER FUNDING GOAL.

I want me some of those add-ons. what do I need to do?

Just add the cost of the add-ons you want to your pledge total. You'll also notice that we've added some additional tasty add-on bundles to make it easier and more economical to pledge for multiple add-ons.

How will you know which add-ons I've pledged for?

We'll ask you to confirm your add-ons as part of the backer survey that we'll be sending out after the campaign.

When will I get my add-ons?

Add-ons will ship with the expansions and stretch goals in March 2018.

Can I get my add-ons any sooner?

The Omnibeast, The Lalnalion and The Playmat are all available to buy on beastsofbalance.com/store and on Amazon (US, UK, FR and DE only). However Kickstarter remains by far the best value way of buying these add-ons.

I qualified for a free ghost crab do I need to adjust my pledge

If you pledged in the first 48 hours and qualified for the Ghost Crab, and want to buy one of the add-on bundles make sure to choose one of the ones that does not include the Ghost Crab.

Beasts on Tour

If we hit $200K before midnight tonight PST we'll drop whatever we're doing and rush straight to the London Eye (either tonight or tomorrow depending on timezones!) and livestream a game of Beasts of Balance from 135M above London.  If that goes well then we might just try for a Livestream from somewhere iconic every time we unlock a new SG...Seattle Needle, Empire State...the list is long and quite possibly we'll live to regret ever mentioning it!! But the world is small and our community are willing...

Hi Everyone,

As we count the final few backers down to our $200K milestone and our next stretch goal reveal, we wanted to share some exciting Shipping News. 

We'll be shipping Beasts of Balance (New Edition) in late September!

We know we said originally that we'd be shipping the core game in November, but we've just had confirmation from our production partners that our first Kickstarter shipment will be rolling off the production lines in about 2 weeks. That means we should have them safe and sound in our US and European warehouses in mid to late September ready to ship to all our backers who live in the US, UK and EU. Our Canadian, Australian and ROW backers might need to wait a little longer, though we're confident that these will follow very shortly afterwards. How do we know all this? Well, we sent Chris to China to check out how manufacturing was coming along and he's given us a big thumbs up. Here he is in Hong Kong checking out the facilities:

Rest of World Shipping Update

We've had quite a few questions from backers in Asia and non-EU European countries asking for more accurate shipping costs. Ever eager to please we've updated our shipping matrix to reflect different shipping options in different parts of the world. If you're still concerned about shipping costs, backers who have backed a reward tier that includes the core game will also have the option to have all their rewards shipped at the same time, in March 2018, rather than paying for split shipping, which will result in a saving. You'll be given this option through our pledge manager once the campaign finishes. In the meantime here's that revised matrix 

*Tier 1 countries: Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia

*Tier 2 countries: Japan, UAE, Israel, Turkey, Kuwait 

*Non-EU Europe: Norway, Switzerland (NB. these costs include any import duties and customs admin fees, which is why the costs are higher than for the the EU)

Thanks to your superlative efforts The Ladder of Creation is yours! 

Which means a new Legendary Beast is now in your grasp. 

Sometimes Legendaries just appear; Sometimes they just appear somewhere vast and dark and alien and are compelled by gravity to plummet to whatever it is they find underneath. 

Let's hope that's water. 

Otherwise...well, there's a lot to splat. 

The Legendary Space Whale is, well, a gigantic whale. From space. Who plummets to earth before making quite a mess of any unfortunate Beasts it lands on. To summon this galactic mammal you’ve first got to draw its shiny Card, then successfully balance the Space Whale Artefact upon the tower. Quick, grab the tablet or smartphone. What’s that you see? It’s a huge whale, swimming happily in the stars. Wait, it’s not swimming - it’s falling! Tilt your device to guide the Space Whale through buffeting cosmic winds, ending with a deadly bellyflop onto the your enemies’ Beasts. Splash damage, if you will.
